David & Ronee | San Francisco City Hall

We are fortunate enough in our line of work that we’re able to meet a lot of intriguing people.  David and Ronee are no exception.  The first time we broke bread with these two was during our initial meet and greet at Va de Vi Bistro & Wine Bar in Walnut Creek.  (By the way, if you’ve never been there, go!  Their food and wine pairings are worth experiencing.)  We learned early on that these two shared an appreciation for art, good food, good wine, and great ambiance. . . and not necessarily in that order.

We met again for their engagement session and spent an entire day with them sharing stories while exploring the Northern California coast down to Big Sur.  What stood out about them was how incredibly easy going these two were.  Not only that, they were open for any adventure.  It almost caught us off guard when we found ourselves capturing them climbing rocks, and edging towards cliffs and jumping fences into forbidden territory.  (I’ll just leave that part out.)  ;-)  Needless to say, we were excited about what their wedding would have in store.

On the day of the wedding, both David & Ronee got ready at the St. Regis in San Francisco.  As an unusually record breaking heat wave started to rise in the city, the same easy going demeanor they had during the engagement session barely broke a sweat.  The ceremony took place on the Mayor’s Balcony at San Francisco City Hall where family and friends witnessed these two FINALLY get married.  A traditional tea ceremony was held thereafter followed by a candle lit dinner reception at Quince Restaurant in the Jackson Square neighborhood (that is, up until power was restored on the block by PG&E).  The decor was stunning, their love story parody uniquely played out by selected guests was well thought out, and last but definitely not least, the AMAZING seven course dinner (give or take, I lost count).  Great food, great libations, and definitely great ambiance.

David & Ronee, thank you again for letting us be a part this day.  Here’s to more adventures!

Nick & Amanda | Monte Rio

We spent quite a bit of time with Nick and Amanda when we photographed their engagement session and immediately we knew then that these two were going to have an unforgettable wedding.  We believe that good chemistry is an important factor in a healthy relationship but what these two had was electric.  But there was something else.  These two possessed something much more but I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it exactly “it” was.   The morning of their wedding was when the epiphany hit me.   Watching their family interact with one another made it apparent that what Nick and Amanda had was a deep rooted love, a love that they have been enveloped in and surrounded by their parents and siblings their entire lives.  You couldn’t help but feel that love permeate in every facet of their wedding. There were so many amazing moments that happened during their wedding and we feel incredibly blessed to have been a part of it all.

Their wedding was truly a collaborative effort put together by family and friends.  Amanda’s mom made these amazing hand pies from scratch and her dad made a killer cosmo mix for the guests.  From the bridesmaids creating beautiful floral arrangements from fresh picked wild flowers to the groomsmen hanging the string lights in the reception hall, it was evident that these beautiful people not only attracted love but emanated it as well.  It seemed that everyone had a part in all the intricacies of their day and that was what made it so incredibly unique and downright awesome. Nick and Amanda, thank you again for allowing us to capture this day for you two.  We had a blast!  We love y’all!monte riomonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingbig yellow house dog at a weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingpianomonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio weddingmonte rio wedding

Brian & Genevieve’s wedding story moved me in ways difficult to describe as it brought me up close and personal with my own emotions.   As I watch my own father go through his bout with cancer I assumed that I would be mentally prepared for all the events and moments of this wedding.  I soon realized that regardless of how much you try to wrap your mind around certain situations, you quickly learn that there are times that you cannot emotionally anticipate.  There were numerous moments throughout the wedding that hit me pretty hard;  I was caught off guard emotionally and found myself having to take a step out, to take a deep breath, and compose myself.  I cannot end this post without thanking my good friend, Nirav, for entrusting me to capture these important moments with him.  That, in itself, speaks volumes.  Thank you.
